Chiefs move on to MSL final with sweep of Kodiaks

The defending MSL champions are heading back to the final.
Lyle thompson and Randy Staats each netted a hat trick to lead the Six Nations Chiefs to a 12-9 win over the Cobourg Kodiaks Sunday in Port Hope.
With the victory, the Chiefs sweep the best-of-seven MSL semifinal series 4-0.
Travis Longboat and Randy Staats got things going for the Chiefs in the first period, while Curtis Conley and Gareth Haigh responded for the home team.
Brock Haley opened the second-period scoring, before Randy Staats and Zach Thompson exchanged goals. Tim Edwards and Tyson Bell extended the Chiefs lead, before Haley scored his second goal of the period for the Kodiaks. Randy Staats scored his second of the period, while Lyle Thompson netted a pair, and Austin Staats added one to put hte Chiefs in the driver's seat.
Jeremy Phoenix responded for the Kodiaks.
In the third period, Cody Jamieson, Lyle Thompson and Brendan Bomberry added to the Chiefs lead. David Anderson scored twice for the Kodiaks and Haigh netted one.
Warren Hill got the win between the pipes stopping 41 shots. Steve Orleman made 52 stops for the Kodiaks.
The Chiefs now wait for the winner of the semifinal between the Peterborough Lakers and Brooklin Lacrosse Club.
