The Six Nations Chiefs got three goals and two assists from captian Cody Jamieson, and three goals and one helper from Eli McLaughlin to pace the defending MSL champions to a 12-3 win over the Peterborough Lakers at the ILA Tuesday.
The Lakers now lead the best-of-seven MSL final series 2-1.
The Chiefs came out with a purpose scoring four times in the first 12 minutes of the game thanks to McLaughlin, Jamieson, Randy Staats, and Bryan Cole. Down but not out, the Lakers counter-punched with Turner Evans, Joe Resetarits and Thomas Hoggarth. Travis Longboat replied late for the Chiefs.
And then the Chiefs dominated, not allowing another goal and scoring seven unanswered to cruise to the Game 3 win. Jamieson scored his second and third goals of the game, as did McLaughlin. Dhane Smith also added to the second-period barrage.
Smith netted another to start the third period, while Longboat added his second of the game.
