Lakers score late to defeat Chiefs in Game 2

The Peterborough Lakers struck three times in one minute, with three minutes to go in regulation time to secure an 8-5 win over the Six Nations Chiefs Thursday at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
The win gives the Lakers a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-seven Major Series Lacrosse final series.
Eli McLaughlin and Randy Staats got the Chiefs off to a hot start, scoring one minute apart midway through the first period. Dylan Hutchison replied to keep the game within a goal.
Steve Priolo increased the Chiefs lead early in the second period, before Taite Cattoni, Owen Hiltz and Turner Evans gave the Lakers its first lead of the game. Dhane Smith responded late in the frame to tie things up.
Rob Hellyer opened the scoring in the third period, with Justin Martin quickly responding to tie things up again. With three minutes to go. Armstrong, Hoggarth and Resetarits struck to pull the Lakers away.
Game 3 of the series is Tuesday at 8 pm at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
