Shayne Jackson has scored plenty of goals in his day, but tonight at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena, his second of the playoffs was the biggest he's scored in a Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs uniform.
Jackson's shot beats Oakville Rock goalie Nick Rose to give the Chiefs a two-goal lead in overtime.
That goal proved to be the winner, as the Chiefs held on to beat the Rock 14-13 in overtime to win the best-of-seven Major Series Lacrosse semifinal 4-1.
With the score tied 12-12 after regulation, Jordan Durston scored his fourth goal of the game to give the Chiefs an early lead in the extra frame, before Jackson gave his team a two-goal lead.
Rob Hellyer notched his fifth of the game to inch the Rock back. But that's as close as they got.
While Durston led the way with four goals, Zed Williams, Dhane Smith, and Cody Jamieson each netted a pair. Brendan Bomberry, Tyson Bell, and Tehoka Nanticoke scored one each.
Dan Craig scored a hat trick for teh Rock, while Dan Lintner added a pair. Brad Kri, Trevor Smyth and Andrew Kew added one each.
The Chiefs will now take on the Peterborough Lakers in the MSL final. Be sure to watch the Chiefs social media and this website for the schedule.
