Chiefs battle back to take 2-0 series lead

The Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs put their nose to the grindstone Tuesday night at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre.
Down 4-2 and outshot after 20 minutes, the Chiefs came roaring back to edge the Oakville Rock 12-10 on the road. With the win and Monday's 8-7 overtime decision at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena, the Chiefs now lead the best-of-seven Major Series Lacrosse semifinal 2-0.
Tehoka Nanticoke scored the game-winning goal with two minutes remaining in regulation, while Shayne Jackson iced things with 40 seconds to go.
Doug Jamieson held the fort between the Chiefs pipes 35 saves.
Offensively, Lyle Thompson and Zed Williams each had five assists. while Shayn Jackson led the way with the hat trick. Dhane Smith, Cody Jamieson, and Nanticoke all scored two goals, while Jordan Durston, Chris Cloutier and Tyson Bomberry added singles.
Rob Hellyer, Dan Lintner, Challen Rogers and Dan Craig all scored two goals for the Rock, while Cory Highfield and Andrew Kewhad one.

GAME 1
In Game 1, Thompson scored three goals including the game winner to lead the way, while Cloutier also scored in overtime.
Jeremy Thompson, Durston, Jamieson, and Nanticoke also scored for the Chiefs.
Highfield led the Rock with three goals, while Bill Hostraswer, Ryan Smith, Lintner and Hellyer netted one each.

Game 3 of the series returns to the ILA Thursday at 8pm, with Game 4 back in Oakville Sunday at 7pm.
