Powered by a four goal outburst in the last half of the first period, the Chiefs handed the Victoria Shamrocks an 8-6 defeat Wednesday at Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
With the win, the Chiefs lead the best-of-seven Mann Cup championship series 3-2.

After Dhane Smith broke the ice in Game 5 with a goal less than three minutes in, Shattler scored a pair to lead the way, with Craig Point and Colin Doyle adding one each.
In the second period, the Shamrocks again got on the board early thanks to Chris Wardle, with Tyler Hass adding another, after Doyle netted his second of the game.
The never say die Shamrocks showed why they won the Western Lacrosse Association, when Corey Small scored two early third-period goals to tie things up.
But thanks to a five minute major putting the Chiefs on the powerplay, Jamieson scored with the man advantage and then again just over two minutes later. Johnny Powless gave the Chiefs some insurance, before the Shamrocks' Rhys Duch rounded out the scoring.
Brandon Miller was again sharp between the Chiefs pipes making 32 saves for the win.
Shamrocks backup goalie Cody Hagedorn got the call for the Shamrocks with Matt Flindell out for the rest of the series because of an injury he suffered in Game 4. Hagedorn was also sharp, making 37 saves in the loss.
The Chiefs can close the series out Friday, when the two teams return to the ILA for an 8pm game.
