The Mann Cup kicked off in style Thursday afternoon.
Players and personnel from the defending champion Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs and Western Lacrosse Association champion Victoria Shamrocks gathered with members of the community and media at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena to officially kick the Mann Cup off.
"The Mann Cup is truly one of the best kept secrets in all of sports," Major Series Lacrosse commissioner Jim Brady said. "This will be a great series played by two of the best teams in the world. The talent out on this floor will be amazing to see."
WLA assistant commissioner Sohen Gill shared Brady's sentiment.
"This is very exciting to have the Mann Cup hosted here at the ILA," Gill said. "It's an honour and privilege to be here for this Mann Cup championship."
Next up on the podium were the general managers, where Duane Jacobs and Chris Jacobs stressed how exciting it is for the Chiefs and Shamrocks get another chance to lock horns.
