Six-point night from Dhane leads Chiefs over Kodiaks

 

 Dhane Smith had the biggest game of the season so far scoring four goals and adding two assists, while Ryan Smith scored three times to lead the Six Nations Chiefs to a 13-9 win over the Cobourg Kodiaks Sunday night on the road.

Ryan kicked off the scoring with a power-play marker two and half minutes into the game, before Brock Haley responded. The two teams kept exchanging goals. Dhane scored a pair of goals, and Larson Sundown added another. Aaron Woods and Ty Thompson scored for the home team.

Josh Byrne led the way in the second period with a pair of goals. Ryan Smith, Randy Staats, and Dhane Smith added singles. Alex Marinier scored two goals for the Kodiaks, with Woods netting another.

The Chiefs took over the third period thanks to Shayne Jackson, Ryan Smith, Byrne, and Dhane Smith. Marinier and David Anderson responded for the Kodiaks.

Warren Hill made 51 saves for the win, while Jackson Brown stopped 65 shots in  a losing effort.

The Chiefs improve to 13-2 on the season and take on the Brampton Excelsiors at home Tuesday at 8pm.
