Chiefs Stay Hot with Dominant Win Over Oakville

The Six Nations Chiefs continued their torrid run through the Major Series Lacrosse season, overpowering the Oakville Rock 11-3 on Tuesday night at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.

After a tight opening frame that saw both teams trade goals — Ian MacKay scoring for the Chiefs and Sam LeClair answering for the Rock — the Chiefs erupted with a seven-goal second period to take control of the game.

Shayne Jackson and Josh Byrne led the charge, combining for two goals each in the middle frame alone. Jackson finished with two goals and two assists, while Byrne notched fthree goals and two assists.

Brendan Bomberry also chipped in with a three-goal performance, and goaltender Warren Hill turned in a great performance for the win.

Luke Robinson scored twice for Oakville, but the Rock were ultimately no match for the league-leading Chiefs, who improve to 11-1-0 on the season.

Six Nations returns to action Thursday night in Peterborough, while Oakville (5-7-0) looks to regroup ahead of their next outing.
