The Six Nations Chiefs didn't waste any time jumping all over the Cobourg Kodiaks Tuesday night to score a 14-6 win on the road in Baltimore.
The Chiefs victory gives them a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven Major Series Lacrosse semifinal series.
Bryan Cole and Cody Jamieson got the Chiefs going in the first five minutes of the game. After Carson Moyer responded, the Chiefs went on a five-goal run to end the first frame. Lyle Thompson led the way with two goals, while Randy Staats, Tyson Bell, and Austin Staats added singles.
Shayne Jackson kept the momentum rolling less than a minute into the second period before Moyer and Tanner Buck struck to get the Kodiaks going. Bell netted his second of the game, as did Austin Staats. Tyler Hendryks responded for the Kodiaks.
The Chiefs continued to create some distance in the third period, with Brad Kri, Jamieson, Lyle Thompson, and Austin Staats adding to the lead. Aaron Woods and Moyer scored for the Kodiaks.
Doug Jamieson got the win between the pipes making 35 stops.
Game 5 of the MSL semifinal is 8 p.m. Thursday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
