Chiefs defence sends Kodiaks packing

Randy Staats not only scored twice, but he set the table with five assists to lead the Six Nations Chiefs to a 11-3 win over the Cobourg Kodiaks Thursday night.
The Chiefs win the best-of-seven Major Series Lacrosse semifinal series 4-1 and will take on the four-time defending champion Peterborough Lakers in the final.
In the first period, the Chiefs made a statement defensively, as well as on the scoreboard scoring six times. Lyle Thompson scored two goals, while singles went to Austin Staats, Randy Staats, Jeremy Thompson, and Kellan Leclair. Carson Moyer had the lone Kodiaks response.
Austin Murphy struck first for the Kodiaks in the second period, before the Chiefs bounced back thanks to Larson Sundown and Shayne Jackson.
Sundown, Brendan Bomberry, and Randy Staats added to the lead in the third period. MSL Rookie of the Year David Anderson scored for the Kodiaks.
Warren Hill was fantastic between the Chiefs' pipes, earning the win, while Steve Orleman had a solid effort for the Kodiaks,
