Chiefs drop second straight at home

It's been a while since the Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs lost two in a row at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
Though there was a road victory sandwiched in between, the Chiefs were just short of digging themselves out of a huge hole, losing 9-8 to the Brampton Excelsiors Tuesday.
The young Excelsiors showed that they weren't intimidated by the Chiefs lineup, scoring five in the first period and three more in the second, giving them a 8-2 lead after two periods.
But in the third period, Randy Staats led the way with three goals, while Lyle Thompson, Cody Jamieson and Kevin Brownwell each added one in the comeback that saw the Chiefs in the Excelsiors end for much of the frame.
Jamieson added a goal in the first period, while Thompson netted the lone Chiefs marker in the second.
Jordan Dance led the Excelsiors with three goals, while Jeff Teat, Phil Caputo, John St. John, Adam Wiedemann, Travis Burton, and Jayson Crawford added one each.
the loss drops the Chiefs record to 3-2 in the early going of Major Series Lacrosse. On Tuesday, they hope to get back in the win column against the Coburg Kodiaks.
