Doug Jamieson shuts door as Chiefs strike first

It was exactly the way the Six Nations Chiefs wanted to start the playoffs.
Led by a 45-save gem from Doug Jamieson,  the Chiefs used goals from Eric Fannell and Jeremy Thompson in the third period to close out a 8-5 win on the road against the Oakville Rock in Game 1 of their best-of-seven Major Series Lacrosse semifinal.
Ian Mackay and Cody Jamieson got things going for the Chiefs, giving them a one-goal lead after 20 minutes.
Jason Noble scored the lone Rock goal.
In the second period, both teams exchanged four-goal runs. Cody Jamieson, Jordan Durston, Craig Point and Fannell scored in the first eight minutes of the frame. During the last 10 minutes, Noble, Johnny Powless, Challen Rogers and Andrew Kew scored for the Rock.
With a 1-0 series lead, the series shifts back to the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena on Tuesday at 8pm.
