Chiefs hold off BLC push to improve to 14-0
After finishing strong in the first and second periods, the Six Nations Chiefs dug in to take a 9-7 win over the Brooklin Lacrosse Club on the road Wednesday.
BLC got off to a strong start thanks to a pair of goals from Dyson Williams. Josh Byrne, Ryan Smith and Andrew Kew responded to grab their first lead of the game.
In the second period, BLC regained the lead with another quick start with goals from Chris Boushy and Williams. But David Anderson, Dhane Smith, Dawson Theede and Byrne scored in the last 10 minutes of the frame to grab another lead.
Latrell Harris added another goal in the first 30 seconds of the third period to add to the Chiefs lead. Dan Lintner and Smith exchanged goals, before BLC made a final push from Chase Scanlan and Williams.
Doug Jamieson earned the win between the pipes making 42 stops, while Thomas Kiazyk made 53 saves in a losing effort.
The Chiefs improve to 14-0, and are set to host the Cobourg Kodiaks Tuesday at the ILA at 8pm.
