Jackson leads third-period charge as Chiefs defeat BLC

Shayne Jackson set the table with five assists on a seven-point night, leading the Six Nations Chiefs to a 13-8 win over Brooklin Lacrosse Club Wednesday during Major Series Lacrosse action.

The game started with Connor Kearnan finding the back of the net and a power-play goal by Austin Shanks giving BLC an early lead. The Chiefs responded quickly with a Travis Longboat power-play marker, while Austin Staats added one at full strength.

Jackson scored his first goal of the night before Brady Kearnan and Curtis Knight closed out the first period, giving BLC a 4-3 edge.

The second period saw the Chiefs take control. Larson Sundown opened things, before Longboat netted his second goal of the night on the power play. Jackson then added his second goal, before Tanner Cook responded for BLC. Dhane Smith then extended the Chiefs' lead, before Cook scored again late in the frame, keeping BLC within striking distance at the end of the second period.

The third period was dominated by the Chiefs, with Randy Staats scoring twice. BLC again rebound back with Kearnan scoring his second goal of the night. Bryan Cole and Austin Staats added to the Chiefs' lead before Shanks scored his third goal of the night for BLC. Longboat then completed the hat-trick, while Lyle Thompson capped off the scoring for the Chiefs with a power-play goal.

Warren Hill recored the win between the pipes making 44 saves, while Zach Higgins made 56 stops for BLC.
