Bellies take Game 2

 


Tye Kurtz had a seven-point game, including five assists, while Frank Scigliano silenced the Six Nations Chiefs attack in a 10-6 New Westminster Salmonbellies win Saturday night at Queen's Park Arena.

With the win, the Bellies lead the best-of-seven Mann Cup final 2-0.

Josh Byrne led the first-period charge for the Chiefs scoring a pair of goals.  But Kurtz answered back with a pair of his own, while Mitch Jones netted one.

Lyle Thompson and Dawson Theede cut the Bellies' lead for the Chiefs. Haiden Dickson led the Bellies with a pair of goals, while Marcus Klarich,scored one.

It was Ryan Sheridan's turn to score a pair of goals for the Bellies in the third period, while Will Malcom and Jeff Cornwall added some insurance. Shayne Jackson and Ryan Smith replied for the Chiefs.

With a rest day Sunday, the two teams reunite on Monday at Queen's Park Arena at 10:30pm EST.
