Chiefs take Game 4 and tie Mann Cup 2-2

 


Ryan Smith scored four goals and had a helper, Ian MacKay scored two goals and three assists, while Dhane Smith had five assists in a 10-3 Six Nations Chiefs win over the New Westminster Salmonbellies Tuesday night at Queen's Park Arena.

With the win, the Chiefs have tied the best-of-seven Mann Cup championship series 2-2.

Shayne Jackson and Ian MacKay gave the Chiefs a first-period lead, while Ryan Smith scored two, with Jackson and Lyle Thompson adding singles to increase the lead in the second period. 

After Chiefs goalie Doug Jamieson was called for having an illegal helmet, then illegal stick, the Bellies scored three-straight to cut the lead. Marcus Klarich, Tye Kurtz, and Will Malcom were the goal scorers.

The Chiefs regrouped in the third period and put an exclamation mark on the game, thanks to a pair of goals from Ryan Smith, while Dawson Theede and MacKay added singles.

Game 5 is set for Wednesday at 10:30pm EST.
