Chiefs take 3-2 stranglehold of MSL final

The Six Nations Chiefs are one win away from winning a third-straight Major Series Lacrosse title.
The two-time defending Mann Cup champs were solid on both sides of the ball, and received some great goaltending from Brandon Miller en route to a 11-6 win at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena Monday night.
The Chiefs now lead the best-of-seven MSL final 3-2.
Jeff Shattler, Kasey Beirnes and Ryan Benesch got the Chiefs going in the third period, while Curtis Dickson supplied all three goals for the Lakers.
Dhane Smith led the scoring in the second period, netting a pair of goals, while Kasey Beirnes continued to shoot well, scoring his second of the game. Johnny Powless, Staats, and Benesch added one goal each.
Brad Self, Chad Culp and Turner Evans replied for the Lakers.
In the third period, Smith scored his third goal of the game amd Staats added his second, while the defence and Miller shut the Lakers down.
Game 6 of the series is back in Peterborough on Thursday at 8pm, with Game 7, if necessary, back at the ILA. That game time and date has yet to be determined as a result of the Minto Cup final, also being held at the ILA.
