Chiefs rout Redmen 13-2

The Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs offence continues to click.
With more regulars trickling into the lineup, the defending Mann Cup champions looked strong in a 13-2 pounding of the Brooklin Redmen Tuesday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
Randy Staats and Craig Point led the Chiefs offensively, scoring three goals each, while Vaughn Harris added a pair.
Staats scored twice in the first period to pace the Chiefs, while Point and Harris each scored once.
In the second period, it was Point's turn to lead the way, scoring two-straight goals, while Dhane Smith, Jacob Crans, Staats and Jeff Shattler added one each.
Shawn Williams finally got the Redmen on the scoreboard midway through the frame.
The Chiefs didn't let up in the third period, with Ryan Benesch and Harris adding to the lead, while Martin Whittaker responded for the visitors.
Dillon Ward continued to impress between the Chiefs pipes, making 38 saves to earn another win.
The Chiefs are back in action Thursday, when they travel to Brampton for the first half of a home-and-home set with the Excelsiors. Both teams return to ILA Tuesday June 16 at 8 pm.
