Chiefs pour on offence in win over Redmen

The Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs offensive machine was on full display at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena Tuesday night.
Dhane Smith led the way with three goals and five assists, as the Chiefs handed the Brooklin a 17-8
defeat in front of more than 300 fans.
The Chiefs got off to a quick start, with Kasey Beirnes and Smith scoring two goals each in the first period, while Jeff Shattler, Billy Dee Smith and Jesse Gamble added one each.
Keil Matisz scored the lone Redmen goal.
The offence continued in the second period, with Benesch scoring three times, while Beirnes pitched in with one.
Mike Teeter and Graeme Hossack responded for the visitors.
The Chiefs continued to put the pedal to the metal, with Johnny Powless, Andrew Watt, Vaughn Harris, Benesch, Brandon Goodwin, and Smith adding to the Chiefs' count.
Despite the lop-sided victory, Dillon Ward was tested early and often. In the end, Ward made 32 saves to record his seventh-consecutive win between the pipes.
The Chiefs, now lead Major Series Lacrosse with a 9-1 record, and are back on the road Thursday against the second-place Peterborough Lakers. Game time is 8pm.
The defending Mann Cup champs return home Tuesday July 7 at 8pm, when they host the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks.
