Cody Jamieson named MSL MVP; Doug Jamieson wins lowest goals against

Suffice to say Cody Jamieson has shown the lacrosse world how great a player he is this summer. And for his efforts, he was voted the Major Series Lacrosse Most Valuable Player, presented by Legend Rings, and captured the Murphy Award when the league announced its award winners.

His 12 goals and 21 assists were one of many reasons the Six Nations Chiefs earned top spot in the regular season in MSL But he brings much more to the table.

"Cody has been the cornerstone of our team since his first season in 2008," Chiefs president Duane Jacobs said. "In a time where players of Cody’s stature look to take time and play minimal games, Cody started the season and his full array of talents has been on full display for the league. At 35 he still gets the opposing teams best defenders, he gets ground balls, he has shown his able to play a 200-foot game, getting back on defence and taking runs out the back door. Off the floor he’s an ambassador for the game and is 100% committed to Six Nations lacrosse."

Among the other award winners was Chiefs goalie Doug Jamieson, who captured the Harry Lumley Award for Lowest Goals Against, presented by LaxBallz.

"Doug had a fantastic season for us," Jacobs said, "He posted a very impressive 7.76 gaols against average. We couldn't be happier for him."
