Chiefs and BLC play to a draw
Dougie Jamieson and Riley Hutchcraft put on a goaltending clinic in a 10-10 tie between the Six Nations Chiefs and Brooklin Lacrosse Club in Major Series Lacrosse action on Tuesday.
Jamieson made 58 stops, while Hutchcraft made 61 during the goaltenders duel that lasted 20 extra minutes because of overtime.
Vaughn Harris netted two goals in the first period, while Joey Cupido added one to lead the Chiefs, while Austin Murphy, Peyton Cormier and Bryce Tolmie responded for BLC.
BLC took the lead after two periods thanks to goals from Brady Kearnan’s pair and a single from Kyle Waters. Marshall Powless, Austin Staats and Cody Jamieson scored to keep it a one-goal game.
In the third, the Chiefs rallied, powered by two more goals from Staats and a pair from Sam LeClair, including the tying goal with less than four minutes to go in regulation. Dyson Williams replied with a pair, while Murphy added one.
NOTES: The Chiefs sit at 3-1-1 and will visit the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Thursday, when they take on the Lakers at 8pm. The draw gives BLC a 1-3-1 record.
