Dillon Ward again stood tall for the Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs.
For a third-straight game the Chiefs were outshot and Ward came up huge, while Ryan Benesch and Dhane Smith each scored hat tricks in a 10-6 win over the Oakville Rock.
The Chiefs now lead the best-of-seven Major Series Lacrosse semifinal 2-1.
Benesch and Vaughn Harris got the Chiefs out to a quick lead. And after Stephan Leblanc responded for the Rock, Dan Dawson and Smith added to the lead.
Jeremy Noble, Wes Berg and Leblanc tried cutting into the lead in the second period, but goals from Benesch and Jordan Durston gave the Chiefs a two goal lead heading into the third.
Leblanc scored his third and fourth goals of the game in the third period, but the Chiefs created some distance thanks to a pair from Smith, while Benesch and Harris added one each.
Ward made 45 saves to preserve the win, while Nick Rose had 37 stops.
Game 3 is Thursday in Oakville.
