Not only did the offence keep clicking with in their crucial 12-5 win over the second-place Peterborough Lakers, it was the defence that was most impressive, only allowing two Lakers to get on the scoreboard.
Johnny Powless, Dhane Smith and Randy Staats gave the Chiefs an early lead, with Adam Jones responding with a pair.
In the second period, Jeff Shattler, Smith, Ryan Benesch, Staats and Stephen Keogh added to the lead, while Jones scored the lone Lakers marker.
The Chiefs continued to play tough defence in the final frame, only allowing Cory Vitarelli to score a pair of goals, while Benesch, Staats, Craig Point and Keogh netted one goal each.
Brandon Miller got the call between the Chiefs pipes and was rock solid, making 40 saves, while Matt Vinc took the loss in a 41
-save effort.
With the win, the Chiefs improve to a Major Series Lacrosse leading 14-2 record, opening up a four-point lead on the Lakers at the top of the standings.
Wednesday, the Chiefs are on the road, when they travel to Brooklin to take on the Redmen, before finishing the regular season Monday in Oakville against the Rock. Both games are at 8pm.
