Smith with a seven-point night leads Chiefs to win over BLC
Dhane Smith continues to dominate Major Series Lacrosse opposition.
Smith scored three times and added seven helpers to lead the Six Nations Chiefs to a 13-8 win over the Brooklin Lacrosse Club at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena Tuesday night. Smith now has seven goals and 19 assists in four games so far this season.
Travis Longboat scored twice to lead the Chiefs in the opening frame. Dawson Theede and Matt Marinier added to the cause, while Will MacLeod, Zach Terry and Chase Scanlan replied for BLC.
The Chiefs took over in the second period. Ian MacKay and Ryan Smith each netted a pair of goals, with Graeme Hossack opening the scoring. Eddie Renaud scored both BLC goals.
Smith went from facilitator to goal scorer in the third period, netting a hat trick, while Andrew Kew added his seventh goal of the season. Connor Kearnan scored ttwice for BLC, with Chase Scanlan adding his seventh goal of the season.
Doug Jamieson picked up his third win of the season, while Aden Walsh was tagged with the loss between the pipes.
The Chiefs, now 4-0, return to action next week, when they host the Cobourg Kodiaks on Tuesday at 8pm.
