Third period collapse leads to loss over Excelsiors

Thursday in Brampton, the Excelsiors scored seven times in the final frame to beat the Chiefs 13-12.
Tyler Fereira and Drake Bennett each scored two goals in the third period to lead the way, while Phillip Caputo, Dereck Downs, and Wayne VanEvery added singles, giving the Excelsiors the victory.
Dhane Smith and Jordan Durston each responded with two goals for the Chiefs.

In the second period, Mike Burke scored twice to get the Excelsiors going, while Fereira and Daryl Veltman added one each.
Ian Mackay, Ethan O'Connor, Cody Jamieson, and Smith scored for the Chiefs.
With the loss, the Chiefs now drop to 1-4 and hope to get back on track Tuesday at home, when they host the Coburg Kodiaks at 8pm. Tuesday is also Hockey Night at the ILA, where fans can come and meet Olympic hockey player Brigette Lacquette and Brandon Montour, of the Anaheim Ducks. Lacquette and Montour will be at the ILA Store from 6pm to 7:30pm. There is also a chance to win a Brandon Montour jersey.
