The depth of Six Nations lacrosse has been the biggest theme this Major Series Lacrosse season.
Wednesday on the road, it was no exception.
The Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs were led by junior B Rebels star Layne Smith, who scored a hat trick and one assist in a 12-10 win over the Brooklin Redmen.
"We've been without a full lineup for most of the season and it's great to see the young talent from our affiliates," Chiefs president Duane Jacobs said. "We all get excited for these young guys when they come in and show their talents."

In the first period, Smith scored his first-ever MSL goal in his debut after Ryan Benesch and senior B Rivermen callup Danton Miller gave the Chiefs and early lead. Brodie Tutton responded, before Jordan Durston added to the Chiefs lead.
Ryan Keenan and Dan Lintner inched the Redmen within a goal to close out the frame.
In the second period, Smith struck first and Vaughn Harris added a power-play goal near the end of the period. That goal stopped a Redmen run that saw Adrian Sorichetti and Ryan MacSpadyen scoring for the Redmen, while Keenan added another goal in the final minute of period two.
Tied after 40 minutes, the two teams kept exchanging goals before the Chiefs finally grabbed the lead thanks to Benesch, Shane Simpson and Smith scoring in a five-minute span. Harris, Benesch and Dhane Smith added to the lead for the Chiefs, while the Redmen tried to come back with goals from Kyle Whitlow, Curtis Knight, Reilly O'Connor and Keenan.
Brandon Miller got the win making 14 saves, while Mike Poulin was tagged with the loss in a 15-stop effort.
With the win, the Chiefs take sole possession of first place by one point over the Peterborough Lakers with their 11-1-1 record.
Saturday, the Chiefs celebrate its 25th anniversary with its Alumni Day game when they host the Oakville Rock at 1 p.m.
