After the Kodiaks got the start it was looking for thanks to Drake Smith scoring early and Matt Crough giving his team another lead in response to Kyle Jackson's goal.
The Chiefs then got on a roll with Brendan Bomberry tying things up and Dan Dawson scoring two goals.
Four minutes later, Dylan Goddard grabbed the momentum back for the Kodiaks, with Luke Laszkiewicz tying things up again, before Wayne VanEvery scored to give Chiefs a late lead they wouldn't give up.
In the Second period, Pat Corbett, Jackson, Dawson and Bomberry increased the lead, while Logan Holmes responded for the Kodiaks.
The third period was all Chiefs, with Jordan Durston scoring the first and last goal of the frame, and Jackson and Danian Miller also adding goals.
