The Brooklin Redmen took command of Game 4 of the
Major Series Lacrosse semifinal and didn't look back.
Goals by Dan Lintner and Shayne Jackson five minutes into the first period gave the Redmen the base they needed to never give back the lead in a 10-6 win over the Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
The best-of-seven semifinal series is now tied 2-2.
Six Nations Arrows star Austin Staats scored his first MSL goal in response to the Redmen start. Mark Matthews and Dhane Smith exchanged goals to round out the scoring.
The Redmen bookended the second period scoring, with Kiel Matisz, Graeme Hossack and Curtis Knight adding to the cause, with Staats scoring his second goal and third point of the game.
Ethan O'Connor opened the scoring for the Chiefs in the third period, but like they did the entire game, the Redmen had a response.
Austin Shanks and Knight, quickly responded, while Chris Corbeil, Matthews and Lintner added to the lead. Cody Jamieson and Dan Dawson scored for the Chiefs.
Dillon Ward made 25 saves in the loss while Mike Poulin stopped 29.
Game 5 of the series returns to Whitby Friday at 8 p.m., with Game 6 back at the ILA Saturday at 7 p.m.
