Third period surge pushes Lakers by Chiefs
A two-goal run in the third period was what the Peterborough Lakers needed to defeat the Six Nations Chiefs 7-6 Thursday at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
Ryan Smith continued to impress, scoring the game's first goal, before Brad McCulley and Taite Cattoni responded for the home side.
Dawson Theede, Lyle Thompson, Randy Staats, and Tyson Bell each scored goals to give the Chiefs a second period lead. Koelton Marquis and Mike Robinson replied for the LAkers.
In the third period, Holden Cattoni opened the scoring early in the frame. After Davin Bomberry scored for hte Chiefs, Robinson and Holden Cattoni quickly replied to pull ahead for good.
Doug Jamieson made 38 stops in a great effort, while Nick Rose made 38 saves in his Lakers debut.
