Chiefs come from behind to beat Excelsiors

Twenty-four hours after nearly coming from behind to beat the Oakville Rock on the road, the Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs pulled it off against the Brampton Excelsiors at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
In front of a large crowd the Chiefs scored four times in the last 10 minutes to beat the Excelsiors 10-9.
Randy Staats and Jordan Durston led the offensive attack with three goals each, while Cody Jamieson pitched in with a pair. Frank Brown and Kyle Jackson also added a goal each.
Mike Burke was the catalyst for the Excelsiors with three goals and two assists, while Cody Ward and Jordan Dance each scored twice. Patrick Miles and Bennett Drake added one goal each.
Warren Hill got the win between the pipes for the Chiefs after coming in relief for Angus Goodleaf midway through the first period.
With the win, the Chiefs improve to 6-5-1, while hte Excelsiors drop to 2-8-2.
With a week off, the Chiefs return to action on July 24, when they host the Peterborough Lakers at 8pm at the ILA.
