Chiefs signings

With the Major Series Lacrosse season less than a week away, the Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs inked a trio of key pieces to the puzzle.
On Saturday, general manager Duane Jacobs officially welcomed Dhane Smith to the Chiefs family.
Smith was recently acquired in a deal with the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks.
Also at Pro-Fit Health Club, Jacobs was pleased to bring back Kedoh Hill and sign Johnny Powless as the defending Mann Cup champions prepare for another run at the national title.
Smith played nine games with the Western Lacrosse League champion, Victoria Shamrocks last season. He scored eight goals to go along with his 13 assists. In nine playoff games, Smith led the Shamrocks with 10 goals and 31 assists. During the Mann Cup final against the Chiefs, he
had four goals and seven assists in five games.
In his third season with the National Lacrosse League's Buffalo Bandits, the Kitchener resident had a career-best 39 goals and 68 assists.
Hill, the 2012 MSL Most Outstanding Rookie, had a breakout season for the Bandits this year, scoring 23 goals and 26 assists in 18 games.
Powless hopes his roller coaster NLL season will translate into a great summer with the Chiefs.
After being traded by the Rochester Knighthawks to the Vancouver Stealth before the NLL draft, Powless was dealt to the Minnesota Swarm midway through the season.
In Vancouver Powless scored seven goals and 32 assists in 11 games. With the Swarm, he five goals and eight assists in six games.
Make sure you catch the Chiefs' home opener on Tuesday, when they host the Kodiaks at the ILA at 8pm.
