Chiefs pay tribute to residential school survivors and give back with jersey sale donations
Last night we welcomed residential school survivors John Elliott, Geronimo Henry, Dawn Hill, Marilyn Morley, Sherlene Bomberry, Tony Bomberry, Roberta Hill, Diane Hill and Leon Bomberry to our final home game of the season.
During the offseason, the Chiefs auctioned off the game worn jerseys, while UnCommonFit also sold Chiefs jerseys.
The jersey auction raised $4,691.69, while jersey sales reached $3,831.75 for a grand total of $8,703.44.
The Six Nations Chiefs not only wanted to pay tribute to them, they also wanted to donate all of the funds collected from last season's Every Child Matters jersey sales to the survivors secretariat.
Last year during the MSL Classic, the Chiefs wore special Every Child Matters jerseys designed in collaboration with UnCommon Fit. The jersey featured artwork by First Nation artist Andy Everson, who will also be receiving a jersey.During the offseason, the Chiefs auctioned off the game worn jerseys, while UnCommonFit also sold Chiefs jerseys.

Chiefs president Duane Jacobs proudly presented the cheque, as well as an autographed Every Child Matters jersey and hats to the guests.
