to another legendary performance from captain Cody Jamieson, the Six
Nations Chiefs captured its seventh Mann Cup title in franchise history.</p><p>Jamieson
scored twice and added four assists to lead the Chiefs to a 11-9
victory over the New Westminster Salmonbellies in Game 5 of the national
senior A box lacrosse championship at historic Queen's Park Arena.</p><p>The
two teams, went toe-to-toe in the first period, much like they have
throughout the best-of-seven series. Ben McIntosh scored twice for the
Chiefs, while Keegan Ball also netted a pair and Ryan Martel added one,
giving the Bellies the lead.</p><p>The Chiefs put the foot down on the
gas pedal in the second period, with Shayne Jackson leading the way
scoring three times, while Jamieson and Dhane Smith added to the cause.
Kevin Crowley scored the only Bellies response.</p><p>In the third
period, the Western Lacrosse Association champion Salmonbellies
attempted to mount a comeback, with Haiden Dickson netting a pair, and
Will Malcom scoring one to tie the game midway through the frame. But
the Chiefs flexed its offensive muscle with Bryan Cole, Jamieson, Smith
and McIntosh scoring to give them a lead they wouldn't give up.</p><p>Martel scored two late goals for the Salmonbellies.</p><p>Doug
Jamieson was again fantastic betweeen the Chiefs pipes, making 50 saves
to earn his third win of the Mann Cup. Zach Higgins again gave his team
a chance to win with another gem between the pipes making 43 stops.</p><p>For
his efforts, Cody Jamieson was named the Most Valuable Player of the
Mann Cup, earning the Mike Kelley Memorial Trophy. Jamieson was not only
the spiritual leader of the Chiefs, he led by example, scoring eight

But the Chiefs responded with two of their own from Sam Leclair and Bryan Cole. Lyle Thompson, Brendan Bomberry and Larson Sundown also scored to give the Chiefs a first-period lead. Jason Jones and Crowley replied.</p><p>The two teams went back and forth in the second period. Haiden Dickson, Mitch Jones and Colton Clark scored for the Bellies, while Sam Leclair, Dhane Smith and Cody Jamieson replied for the Chiefs.</p><p>The back and forth continued in the final frame, before Jeff Cornwall scored his second goal of the period, which became the game-winner with just over three minutes left in regulation time. Thompson scored the winner with five and a half minutes to go in
regulation time to give the Six Nations Chiefs an 8-7 win over the New
Westminster Salmonbellies Monday at Queen's Park Arena.</p><p>The Chiefs now lead the best-of-seven Mann Cup championship series 3-0.</p><p><a href="https://www.wlalacrosse.com/stats#/62/game/732494/team-stats">BOXSCORE</a><br /></p><p>Eric
Fannell helped give the Chiefs a huge start, scoring two goals in the
first five minutes of the game. Randy Staats added to the lead before
Will Malcolm broke the seal for the Salmonbellies. But Dhane Smith and
Ben McIntosh increased the lead to four to close out the frame.</p><p>The
Salmonbellies battled back in the second period, with Ilija Gajic,
Malcolm, Jeff Cornwall, Keagan Bal, Kevin Crowley, and Mitch Jones
giving the QPA faithful a chance to erupt. Thompson and Staats responded
for the Chiefs, setting up Thompson's winner, earning himself the
team's Player of the Game.</p><p>It was Doug Jamieson's turn to guard
the Chiefs' pipes, and was at times spectacular stopping 42 shots. Zach
Higgins was also incredible in goal for the Salmonbellies, and was named

come away with a 13-11 win over the New Westminster Salmonbellies
Saturday in front of another packed house at Queen's Park Arena.</p><p>With the victory, the Chiefs lead the best-of-seven Mann Cup championship series 2-0.</p><p><a href="https://www.wlalacrosse.com/stats#/62/game/732495/team-stats">BOXSCORE</a><br /></p><p>The
Salmonbellies came out hard, with Mitch Jones scoring two times in the
first period to pace the Western Lacrosse Association champs to a
one-goal edge after 20 minutes. Will Malcolm scored the other Bellies
goal, while Lyle Thompson and Brendan Bomberry responded for the Chiefs.</p><p>The
two teams kept exchanging goals in the second period, with the
exception of the Chiefs going on a two-goal run midway through the
frame. Dhane Smith, Jackson, Jamieson, Thompson, and Bomberry scored to
knot the game after two periods. Ryan Martel, Anthony Malcolm, Brandon
Goodwin, and Jeff Cornwall scored for the Bellies.</p><p>In a wild third
period, Jackson finally iced the game with a laser-like shot and beat
Zach Higgins with just over a minute to play in regulation time, before
Tim Edwards iced things with the empty-netter. During the last period,
the Bellies show a ton of grit, tying things up four times before
Jackson's winner. Jamieson scored twice during the final 20 minutes,
while Ben McIntosh scored the other Chiefs' marker. Will Malcolm also
scored twice in the period for the Bellies, while Mike Messenger, and
Jeff Cornwall responded with one each.</p><p>It was Warren Hill's turn
to defend the pipes for the Chiefs, and he was named Player of the Game
thanks to his 41-save performance. Higgins made 39 stops in a brilliant

Westminster Salmonbellies earned the right to host and compete in this
year’s national championship by sweeping the Victoria Shamrocks in the
semi-finals and defeating the Langley Thunder in a hard-fought
seven-game final series. </p><p>In the East, the Six Nations Chiefs are
the Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) champions and will fly to the West
Coast to contest the ultimate box lacrosse trophy – the Mann Cup.</p><p>All
games in the best-of-seven series will be played at historic Queen’s
Park Arena in New Westminster on the Salmonbellies iconic wooden floor
and broadcast live on WLA TV, with 7:30 pm start times on the following

senior amateur championship trophy as a challenge trophy, the 1925 New
Westminster Salmonbellies turned the trophy over to the Canadian
Lacrosse Association to institute a national playoff system between the
East and West. The Mann Cup was played for under field lacrosse rules,
until 1932 when box lacrosse was adopted by the CLA. The trophy itself
lives permanently at the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in New
Westminster, as it is made of solid, low-karat gold, and is valued at

by Austin Staats's four goals and a hat trick from Ben McIntosh, the
Six Nations Chiefs silenced the Peterborough Lakers 11-6 in front of
2,900 people Thursday night in Game 2 of the Major Series Lacrosse
final.</p><p>The Chiefs now lead the best-of-seven series 2-0.</p><p><a data-link="{"new_window":true,"type":"external","url":"https://gamesheetstats.com/seasons/3246/games/1446444"}" href="https://gamesheetstats.com/seasons/3246/games/1446444">BOXSCORE</a></p><p>McIntosh,
Liam Leclair, Larson Sundown, Tim Edwards, and Staats gave the Chiefs
the start they were looking for in the first period. Eli McLaughlin and
Taite Cattoni replied for the Lakers.</p><p>The Lakers began to push
back in the second period despite Brendan Bomberry and Austin Staats
increasing the Chiefs lead. Kiel Matisz and Taite Cattoni supplied the
offence for the Lakers.</p><p>In the third period, Thomas Hoggarth and
Jish Currier did their part to help cut the lead, before McIntosh and

the Six Nations Chiefs to a 10-7 win over the Peterborough Lakers in
Game 1 of the Major Series Lacrosse final Tuesday night at the Iroquois

Evans got the Lakers off to the start they were hoping for, striking
first, two minutes into the game. But the Chiefs bounced back in a big
way, scoring five straight to finish off the first frame. Austin Staats
led the way with a pair of goals, while Randy Staats, Ben McIntosh, and
Lyle Thompson added singles.</p><p>Austin Staats kept the momentum going
early in the second period, scoring his third of the game. He added
another later on, while Eric Fannell and Randy Staats added to the lead.
Holden Cattoni led the Lakers charge with a pair of second-period
goals, while younger brother Taite Cattoni added one. Mike Robinson also
scored for the Lakers.</p><p>The Lakers looked to close the gap with
Taite Cattoni and Kiel Matisz getting their team within striking
distance. Thompson scored his second goal of the night to add some

Cole and Cody Jamieson got the Chiefs going in the first five minutes
of the game. After Carson Moyer responded, the Chiefs went on a
five-goal run to end the first frame. Lyle Thompson led the way with two
goals, while Randy Staats, Tyson Bell, and Austin Staats added singles.</p><p>Shayne
Jackson kept the momentum rolling less than a minute into the second
period before Moyer and Tanner Buck struck to get the Kodiaks going.
Bell netted his second of the game, as did Austin Staats. Tyler Hendryks

Staats opened the scoring off a Randy Staats pass at 2:24, followed by
Larson Sundown converting an Austin Staats pass at 4:18.</p><p>Austin
Staats continued to shine as he opened the second period by scoring on
the powerplay off a Tyson Bell feed in transition, followed by Randy
Staats converting a Lyle Thompson feed at 2:39 to open a four-goal lead.</p><p>The
Kodiaks finally got on the board when Austin Murphy found Marshall
Powless. Powless fired a laser to the top corner at 4:27 on the
powerplay. But Austin Staats answered immediately scoring unassisted
just 33 seconds later. Bell then added to the Chiefs lead by going in
all alone and shoveling an underhand shot past Steven Orleman at 7:01.</p><p>The
Chiefs onslaught continued when Randy Staats found Thompson with a
no-look behind the back pass. Thompson made no mistake at 8:44. Austin
Staats scored the next two goals. His fifth goal of the night was from
in front all alone at 10:56, followed by a howitzer from the outside off
a Ty Logan pass at 12:38. </p><p>Jackson Brown replaced Steven Orleman
in goal and was welcomed to the game by Shayne Jackson scoring off a
Logan feed as well just 20 seconds into the goalie change. Jackson
scored again in transition again converting a Logan feed at 19:19.</p><p>The
Chiefs opened the third period scoring in transition when Bryan Cole

Sundown and Sam LeCair in a 13-11 win over the Cobourg Kodiaks Sunday
in the final Major Series Lacrosse game of the season.</p><p>David
Anderson opened the scoring for the Kodiaks converting a Tanner Buck
pass 43 seconds into the game. But the Chiefs stormed back with two
quick goals. Cody Jamieson scored off a Charlie Scanlon pass at 2:57,
followed by LeClair finishing off a Ben McIntosh pass 34 seconds later.
Jackson increased the Chiefs lead with a blast off a Scanlon pass at
7:11, followed by Sundown scoring off a Brad Kri pass at 9:16.</p><p><a aria-label="Open in new window" href="https://gamesheetstats.com/seasons/3246/games/1390211" target="_blank">BOXSCORE</a></p><p>Buck
got the Kodiaks back in the game converting a Marshall Powless pass at
9:49, but was answered Sundown’s second of the game at 10:25. Aaron
Woods continued the Kodiaks comeback converting a Buck feed at 15:59,
followed by Anderson’s second of the period off a Buck pass at 17:26.</p><p>Anderson’s
third goal of the game tied the game early in the second off a Buck
feed, but Brendan Bomberry answered for the Chiefs off a LeClair pass
at 1:48. Anderson’s fourth of the evening tied the game again, but two
more from LeClair, including a power-play marker gave the Chiefs a
two-goal advantage at 4:39.</p><p>Tyler Hendryks scored the next two
goals to tie the game. The first was off a Nick Ellerton feed at 13:14
to bring the game within one, followed by a blast off a Buck feed at
19:55 on the power-play.</p><p>The Chiefs opened the third period with
two quick goals. Jackson scored his second of the game off a Thompson
feed at 2:04, followed by Thompson himself scoring unassisted at 2:20.</p><p>Hendryks
brought the Kodiaks within one goal in transition off a long lead pass
from Steven Orleman at 3:40, and tied it again when Powless converted a
Woods pass at 9:26. </p><p>Jamieson once again gave the Chiefs the lead
again finishing off a Thompson pass at 10:16. But Carson Moyer

blast from Murphy restored the four goal Kodiaks lead.</p><p>Austin
Staats narrowed the lead with a blast off a Cody Jamieson pass at 13:58,
followed by Lyle Thompson scoring off a Jeremy Thompson pass off the
faceoff eight seconds later. Lyle Thompson scored again to bring the
game within one goal converting an Austin Staats pass just 26 seconds
later. Austin Staats then tied the game finishing off a Brendan Bomberry
pass at 15:33. The Chiefs continued the barrage when Sam LeClair made a

had the goalie pulled with final possession to end the period, however,
Six Nations gained possession and Tyson Bell scored a beauty behind the
back shot in transition at 19:50.</p><p>Buck opened the third-period
scoring on the power play, converting a Powless pass at 1:43. But the
Chiefs answered on the power play. While the Kodiaks were down two men,

Chiefs a 9-8 victory over the Peterborough Lakers Thursday in front of

fourth goal and sixth point on the night clinched first place for the
Chiefs and home-floor advantage during the Major Series Lacrosse

game began with Thompson scoring seven seconds into the game thanks to

with Randy Staats and Ty Logan widening the gap. But the Lakers came

Thompson converted a Fannell feed as well at 4:37 to make the score 3-0

the first period to defeat the Brampton Excelsiors 11-4 Tuesday during
Major Series Lacrosse action.</p><p>The Excelsiors opened up the scoring
when Jonathan Gagliardi converted a Lucas Ferreira feed at 5:58,
followed by Steven Portelli finishing off a Henry Follows pass at

Chiefs got on the board in the second period, when Cody Jamieson

the game. Charlie Scanlon gave the Chiefs their first lead of the night,
firing a laser to the far corner off an Austin Staats feed at 5:45. The
Chiefs built on their lead with Lyle Thompson throwing a long lead pass
to Austin Staats at the side of the net. Then Austin Staats fed his

Excelsiors finally answered when Pent Eistrat finished a Lucas Ferreira
pass at 13:10. But Thompson regained the two-goal Chiefs lead

the scoring with Luke Pilcher scoring with a quick stick off a Jacob
Martino feed at 8:38 on the power-play. Eric Fannell tied the game with
a blast off a Layne Smith feed at 16:01.</p><p>The Brooklin Lacrosse
Club got off to a quick start in the second with Parker Pipher
converting a Brady Kearnan pass at 1:07, followed by Jack Travassos

3:23, but Brady Kearnan got it back recovering a rebound and beating

Staats was in on seven goals as he led the Six Nations Chiefs to a 8-5
win over the Peterborough Lakers Tuesday in Major Series Lacrosse
action.</p><p>The Lakers got on the board first when Thomas Hoggarth
converted a Holden Cattoni pass at 56 seconds, but was answered by Lyle
Thompson with a power-play blast finishing an Austin Staats feed at
2:56.</p><p>Austin Hasen regained the lead for the Lakers converting a
Tyler Pace pass at 6:40, but once again was answered by Austin Staats

second of the night with a great individual effort going side to side

Staats increased the lead on the power-play with a howitzer from the
outside off a Lyle Thompson pass at 16:34. </p><p>The Lakers opened the
third period scoring with great ball movement on the power-play. Turner
Evans finished an Austin Hasen feed at 7:07 to bring the game within
one goal. </p><p>Six Nations answered with two quick goals. Austin
Staats scored off a Cody Jamieson feed at 10:10, followed by Randy
Staats finishing off a Charlie Scanlon pass at 11:40 to give the Chiefs a
